WHAT AN AMAZING WEEKEND !!!

wow!! what a weekend i hv had....

it started off with me gng to bang airport to receive Gaurav Tekriwal (plz read my previous post if u haven't heard his name yet) on saturday morning....fortunately, his flight was on time and i dint hv to wait for long....had a chat with him for almost an hour in the cab...was really good to meet someone with such a clear idea of what he is aiming for....and what a nice chat that was...our first stop was the house of Mr. V G Unkalkar, who is a very senior person in Vedic Maths...i could clearly see the mark of a brilliant and
genius yet very down to earth and humble mathematician in him...it was indeed a pleasure talking to him...a quiet, and prob introvert, but yet razor sharp with his mathematical skills and explanations shud define him the best...has already written a book on Vedic Maths and the second one is also almost over...always wanted to meet a mathematician like him...we spent several hours in his house and then went to meet Shakuntal Devi mam in her house...also picked up Mr. Srivatsa on our way, who himself is a great scholar in this field and has a wealth of practical experience with him...a chat for just 10 min with him is enough for one to gauge his depth of knowledge.......neways, we reached Shakuntala mam's house in the evening and what an experience it was...who could say that she has grown old with time??...she is as energetic as anyone far younger than her age...her mental strength & determination to open a college in Bang is really appreciable...her personality and aura reminds me of one excerpt from one of Dr Kalam's book wherein he states the fact that people retire not when they cross a certain age but when they feel they cant do anything worthwhile now....she invited us to meet her the next day (ie Sunday) as well....and we did go there when she made us see her college building that's coming up at quite a fast rate ...

this was really a fabulous weekend for me...met so many great mathematicians in 2 days...i was always very much interested in Maths, and Vedic Maths in particular, since my childhood days....but never thought that i could be so lucky...in bang, i have made trips to various nearby places on almost every weekend but this weekend was really special....absolutely enjoyed every bit of it....
